Odd While the focus of the news and commentary on heels of the $700,000,000,000.00 bailout failure is all about the candidates and their roles and reactions, I am still quite stunned at the strange coalition that defeated the bill. The arch conservatives (2/3rds of the House GOP) and the Liberals (1/3rd of the House Dems) knocked this thing down.

Now the policy questions boil down to whether the next attempt will try to appease the far left or far right.

Or will the markets settle in the next 48 hours and everyone will walk away from this mess until the grown-ups are back in the White House? It's hard to say.  ¶ 7:34 PM
