Come and Go
A couple of things are happening on the Restaurant Front. Sean from the Freight yard Pub has bought the old Christina's and is turning it into a bar and pizzeria. I suspect he will have have another success.
Two more Pittsfield restaurants quietly folded up last week. Kneebones and the little Brazilian restaurant are gone, but I have few details as to why.
Finally, The Alley on Eagle St. in North Adams should be opening for business in the next few weeks. I know the cook there and he is absolutely outstanding. It's definitely going to be on my list of places to check out.
This winter has been a weird one for Berkshire restaurants. As Lili von Schtupp said in Blazing Saddles; "They keep coming and going and going and coming." ¶ 12:09 PM

the little brazillian place on mckay St?.....he was all gongho....coming to north adams...going to franchise....i saw that coming when he couldn't pay the bil for his electrician...

The guy who supposedly owned the Brazilian was from India. He spent too much time talking on his cellphone and bragging to the customers, while undocumented help who couldn't speak English worked behind the counter.
Good idea, terrible execution, now gone. The food business requires hands on management every day, not once in a while.
