  Didn't see this coming...
Old Hippie endorsing a white-supremist cloaked in Libertarian garb:
Singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie yesterday issued a statement backing the presidential candidacy of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

"I love this guy," said Guthrie in the statement. "Dr. Paul is the only candidate who would have signed the Constitution of the United States had he been there.

"I'm with him because he seems to be the only candidate who actually believes it has as much relevance today as it did a couple of hundred years ago."

Paul is the only Republican candidate who has endorsed an immediate withdrawal of United States troops from Iraq. He has also pledged to reduce the federal budget to its bare bones. He is opposed to free trade agreements, supports the anti-abortion movement and believes in the right to keep and bear arms.

Paul also supports securing the nation's borders from illegal immigrants and also favors improved funding for veterans' services.
I guess Arlo missed this stuff (an excellent compilation of Paul's involvement with the white power movement), or maybe Woody's son is just an idiot.

Oh that's funny. Your link to 'this stuff' links to another blogger who has cut and pasted snippets of some other wanna-be muckster's hit piece.
White Supremicist indeed.
And heaven forbid someone endorse RP, lest they suffer your literary wrath. I bet Arlo has brought more joy to this world with his music than than you are ever likely to with this blog.

The other blogger you refer to has copies of Dr. Paul's own newsletters from 1990 referring to MLK Day as "Hate Whitey Day." You can decide what that means.

Say what you will, but Paul is a race baiting cretin who is being openly embraced by the White Power movement.

Must've been something he ate at Alice's.

Seriously - Ron Paul? And it didn't take long (just over an hour, from the looks of the timestamps) for you to draw a Rondroid. What, you folks just sit around googling "Ron Paul" all day?

Must be nice.

I'm not far from a small-"l" libertarian, as you may know. But I agree that Ron Paul has had unsavory associations that should make support for him untenable even for people who are ideologically closer to him than am I.

It would indeed be nice if celebrities would take the time to research candidates and issues before spouting their mouths off.

It appears that it is more than Dr. Paul's associations. He's pretty much taken the oath it seems.

I sometimes wonder why the media even pick up celebrity endorsements. They rarely carry much weight (no pun intended towards Ms. Winfrey) and they are no better informed than you or I.

Dammit. Berkshire Eagle, I demand that you report that I am undecided!!
