Is it my imagination...
... or do most of The Transcript's letters to the editor that represent extreme or forceful right-wing views come from people who live out of state?

It's your imagination. Most of them come from Pittsfield (although some people might consider that out of state).

The OpEd page of all the local papers would be less entertaining if Mr. Murphy stopped his periodic submissions.
There used to be a couple right wing guys who pop veins in their forehead on a regular basis in the letters and who were former residents but now lived down south, but I believe their days have passed.
Frankly my guess is that there are more left wing slanted latters than right wing-- I agree with Glenn and John that sometimes you get former residents (now out of state)submitting letters---but that may be true of some of the more leftie letters---you lost me on Murphy--doesn't ring a bell----of course Ray Warner often graces the letters to the ed----and he lives not only out of state but out of the country-and out of the planet- in Williamstown---chbpod
